Amends Minnesota Statutes section 306.243 to require cities, towns, and counties to manage and maintain abandoned cemeteries located within their jurisdictions where a veteran is known or proven to be interred.

Requires local governments to accept transfers of abandoned cemeteries when the cemetery association adopts a resolution to transfer ownership under section 306.025.

Mandates all statutory and home rule charter cities, towns, and counties to file a report with the state auditor by November 30, 2018, detailing plans to maintain, transfer, move, or close each abandoned cemetery within their boundaries.

Requires the state auditor to compile submitted reports and make them available to the public.

Takes effect August 1, 2018.
