State representatives are prohibited from contracting with private attorneys in lawsuits where the state is a party if attorney fees exceed the greater of $100,000 or two percent of the settlement amount

Any contract contemplating attorney fees exceeding the greater of $100,000 or two percent of the settlement amount must be submitted to the Legislative Advisory Commission for approval

Creates new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 15, section 15.4741
