Allows property owners to request early termination from the metropolitan agricultural preserves program, but only four years after the preserve commences.

Owners seeking termination must submit written notice to the local planning and zoning authority using a form provided by the commissioner of agriculture, including property description and desired termination date.

Early termination becomes effective only upon approval by a majority vote of the local authority exercising planning and zoning jurisdiction over the land.

Amends Minnesota Statutes 2017 Supplement, section 473H.09, by adding a new subdivision establishing the early termination process.

Effective the day following final enactment.
