Board of Regents requested to freeze University of Minnesota resident undergraduate tuition rates for academic years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 at levels not exceeding 2017-2018 rates.

Total appropriation increased from $660,843,000 to $669,293,000 for fiscal years 2018-2019, with General Fund allocation rising from $658,686,000 to $667,136,000.

$15,000,000 annually (fiscal years 2018-2019) designated for medical school research capacity, National Institutes of Health funding ranking improvements, and physician training in rural and underserved communities.

$7,800,000 annually allocated for health training restoration including faculty physicians at eight residency program sites, Mobile Dental Clinic operations, and geriatric education expansion.

$4,000,000 annually provided for Minnesota Discovery, Research, and InnoVation Economy cancer care research program; $500,000 annually for University of Minnesota Morris tuition waivers; and $50,000 one-time for intellectual and developmental disabilities academic program development.
