Out-of-state pharmacies dispensing medications to Minnesota residents must comply with federal law, Minnesota state law, and Minnesota Rules when serving state residents.

Out-of-state pharmacies must provide a 24-month inspection report from their state regulatory agency or pay for a board-conducted inspection, with the board able to deny licensure if deficiencies are not corrected.

Out-of-state pharmacies must disclose corporate officers and pharmacists involved in dispensing to Minnesota residents, maintain separate retrievable records, provide toll-free customer service at least 40 hours per week, and offer unit-dose packaging for long-term care facility residents upon request.

Pharmacies dispensing legend drugs through websites must be verified by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy to obtain or renew a license.
