Appropriates $250,000 in fiscal year 2019 from the workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the Somali American Women Action Center.

Grant funds wholistic community-based services for Somali American women and young mothers ages 18 to 28 who face multiple barriers to employment.

Services include job training (including sewing training), housing navigation, entrepreneurship development, health care, mental health outreach, and workforce preparation.

Grant must support job skills development and create pathways to private and public employment sectors.

This is a onetime appropriation available until June 30, 2020.
