Increases total school readiness aid entitlement to $63,683,000 for fiscal year 2018 and later (up from $33,683,000 for fiscal year 2017).

School readiness aid is distributed to districts based 50 percent on four-year-old children in the district and 50 percent on pupils from families eligible for free or reduced school lunch programs.

Districts must have an approved biennial plan under section 124D.15, subdivision 3a, to be eligible for school readiness aid.

Appropriates funds from the general fund to the Department of Education for school readiness programs in fiscal years 2018 and 2019, with specific dollar amounts to be determined.

Changes are effective for revenue in fiscal year 2018 and later.
