Amends Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 120A.22, subdivision 9, to modify required curriculum instruction areas.

Adds language requiring social studies instruction to include "civics consistent with section 120B.02, subdivision 3" alongside existing requirements for history, geography, and government and citizenship.

Maintains existing curriculum requirements for basic communication skills, mathematics and science, and health and physical education.

Instruction, textbooks, and materials must continue to be in English language, with other languages permitted under sections 124D.59 to 124D.61.
