Applies interim powers and procedures to the period between adjournment of the 90th Legislature 2017 session and convening of the 90th Legislature 2018 session.

Subcommittee on Committees authorized to appoint persons to fill vacancies in commissions and other bodies appointed by the Senate.

Committee on Rules and Administration establishes positions, sets compensation and benefits, appoints employees, and authorizes expense reimbursement for Senate operations.

Secretary of the Senate may employ necessary staff to finish 2017 session business at 2017 salaries and to prepare for 2018 session at 2018 salaries.

Secretary of the Senate corrects and approves Senate Journal, may pay election and litigation costs, and enters into contracts for supplies and services (contracts over $10,000 require Committee Chair approval).
