Alex is a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 295 who has demonstrated mastery of all scouting skills and completed a community service project building 15 bird houses and feeders for Rosemount Elementary School

Alex attended Rosemount Elementary School as a student on the Autism Spectrum and progressed to Rosemount Middle School as a fully mainstreamed student, while serving as a mentor for other scouts on the spectrum in Troop 295
