Honors Park High School for maintaining a high-performing AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program that closes achievement gaps and develops critical thinking, literacy, and math skills.

Recognizes Park High School as the first AVID National Demonstration High School in Minnesota, joining only 175 other schools with this distinction nationwide.

Documents program growth from 20 students in 2009 to 260 students in 2018, led by AVID Coordinators Maria Tol and Nikki McCarty with support from approximately 20 teachers.

Notes that AVID students at Park High School enroll in rigorous courses at equal or higher rates than peers and achieve success with teacher support and AVID instruction.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and transmit an enrolled copy of the resolution to Park High School.
