Secretary of state or county auditor must contract with American Translators Association-certified translators to develop voting instructions and sample ballots in languages other than English for use in polling places.

Secretary of state or county auditor must designate language minority precincts by determining the number of voting-age residents in each precinct who are language minorities lacking sufficient English skills, no later than 90 days before an election.

Precincts where three percent or more of voting-age residents are language minorities must receive at least two copies of translated voting instructions and sample ballots.

Precincts where 20 percent or more of voting-age residents are language minorities must receive at least four copies of translated materials and must have at least one election judge certified by the American Translators Association to translate in the applicable language, who must wear identifying certification badge.

Translated materials must be available for voter reference and at least one sample ballot and set of instructions in each applicable language, along with a notice in that language, must be posted in a conspicuous location in each polling place.
