Mental health practitioners and professionals are prohibited from engaging in conversion therapy with clients under 18 years of age or with vulnerable adults as defined in Minnesota Statutes section 626.5572, subdivision 21.

Conversion therapy attempted with minors or vulnerable adults is considered unprofessional conduct subject to disciplinary action by the licensing board.

Medical assistance coverage under Minnesota Statutes section 256B.0625 does not cover conversion therapy services.

Prohibits fraud, false pretense, false promises, misrepresentation, and deceptive practices when advertising or offering conversion therapy services or products in trade or commerce.

Defines conversion therapy as any practice seeking to change an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity, excluding counseling that supports gender transition or provides acceptance and support without attempting to change sexual orientation or gender identity.
