Appropriates $2,500,000 in fiscal year 2020 and $2,500,000 in fiscal year 2021 from the arts and cultural heritage fund to the Minnesota Humanities Center for the American Indian legacy grant program.

Minnesota Humanities Center must create and administer a grant program providing arts and cultural heritage funding to individuals and organizations in the Minnesota American Indian community.

Grant program must work with American Indian community members to develop goals and evaluation criteria, and reach recipients in the seven-county metropolitan area and throughout Minnesota.

Funds must be used to issue grants to American Indian artists for developing their work and providing educational opportunities, and to issue grants to American Indian organizations supporting artists and providing educational events and public programming.

Funds must also support workshops and assistance to American Indian artists and arts programs for capacity building related to Minnesota's arts, culture, and heritage.
