Interest earned on the appropriated amount is also appropriated to the secretary of state for the same election security purposes.

Appropriations are one-time and available until March 23, 2023.

$167,000 spent by the secretary of state in fiscal years 2018 and 2019 for secure voter registration system access is credited toward federal matching requirements under the Help America Vote Act of 2002 and the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2018.
