• Health carriers prohibited from declining coverage, limiting coverage, or discriminating in premium rating based solely on an insured's status as a living organ donor without additional actuarial risks.

• Employers with 20+ employees must grant up to 40 hours of paid leave for employees undergoing bone marrow or organ donation procedures, with total combined paid and unpaid leave not exceeding 12 weeks unless agreed otherwise.

• Employers must grant unpaid leave for organ donation in addition to paid leave, with total leave determined by employee but not exceeding 12 weeks unless employer agrees.

• Employers prohibited from retaliating against employees for requesting or obtaining organ donation leave.

• Repeals Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 181.9456 and amends firefighter pension law to recognize organ donation leave as a qualifying absence under state law.
