Commissioner of corrections shall establish and administer a pilot program at Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater from July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2020, to address mental health issues among correctional officers and inmates.

Program shall provide correctional officers with skill refreshers, mental health training and techniques, and mental health services.

Program shall conduct mental health interventions for inmates and educate them on available mental health resources.

Commissioner shall report to legislative committees with jurisdiction over corrections by October 1, 2020, on the program's impact and outcomes.

Unspecified amounts from the general fund are appropriated to the commissioner of corrections for fiscal years 2020 and 2021 to fund the pilot program.
