HF1964 Summary

• Postsecondary institutions must notify a student's school as soon as practicable if the student withdraws from or stops attending a course.

• Students must provide their school with a copy of all grades earned in courses taken for secondary credit, including interim or nonfinal grades during the academic term.

• Postsecondary institutions must notify students about payment in the customary manner and send written notice to the student, school/district, and commissioner upon accepting an 11th or 12th grade pupil for enrollment.

• School districts must grant academic credit for successfully completed postsecondary courses, with seven quarter or four semester college credits equaling at least one full year of high school credit.

• Both provisions are effective July 1, 2020.
