• Adds butalbital and gabapentin to the list of controlled substances monitored under Minnesota's prescription monitoring program.

• Restructures the Prescription Monitoring Program Advisory Task Force to include individual practitioners (prescribers, pharmacists, addiction counselors, and medical examiners) rather than professional associations, and makes the task force permanent.

• Expands the advisory task force duties to include providing expertise in data analysis, recommending program improvements, defining content for monthly and quarterly reports, and recommending criteria for unsolicited data sharing with prescribers and dispensers.

• Adds reporting requirements for dispensers to correct errors within seven calendar days when notified by patients or other data subjects, and adds a third exemption category for prescriptions mailed, shipped, or delivered out-of-state to the receiving state's monitoring program.

• Adds board personnel assigned to conduct bona fide investigations as a new category of permissible users with access to prescription monitoring data.
