• Appropriates $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2020 and $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2021 from the workforce development fund for grants to the American Indian Opportunities and Industrialization Center in collaboration with the Northwest Indian Community Development Center.

• Funds must be used to reduce academic disparities for American Indian students and adults through tutoring, testing support, and GED assistance.

• Supports training and employment placement in information technology and trades, including real-time work experience opportunities in these fields.

• Provides remedial training for postsecondary enrollment, contextualized adult basic education, career and educational counseling for clients with significant barriers, and reentry services for adults and youth.

• Allows the commissioner to transfer the appropriation to the commissioner of education after notification to the legislature.
