HF 2664 - Lymphedema Treatment Coverage

• Requires all health plans sold, issued, or renewed to Minnesota residents to cover lymphedema treatment, including compression garments, stockings, sleeves, compression devices, and bandaging systems when prescribed by a licensed health care professional.

• Mandates coverage for complex decongestive therapy and outpatient self-management training and education during lymphedema treatment.

• Allows health carriers to require prescribing providers to be within the enrollee's health plan network if the network meets adequacy standards under Minnesota Statutes section 62K.10.

• Prohibits health plans from imposing cost-sharing requirements, benefit limitations, or service limitations on lymphedema treatment that are greater or more restrictive than those applied to other similar services or benefits.

• Effective August 1, 2019, and applies to all health plans issued, sold, or renewed on or after that date.
