• Adds county probation officers to the Public Employees Retirement Association local government correctional service retirement plan effective July 1, 2019

• Defines eligible county probation officers as appointed probation officers under Minnesota Statutes section 244.19, subdivision 1, who are not Department of Corrections employees

• Requires eligible county probation officers to spend at least 75 percent of working time in direct contact with persons in probation or parole status

• Excludes county probation officers from the public employees police and fire retirement plan

• Prohibits employment as a county probation officer before July 1, 2019 from counting as allowable service in the retirement plan
