Allows eligible casual part-time firefighters hired by Maplewood after February 14, 2011, to purchase service credit in the public employees police and fire retirement plan for periods when the city failed to deduct required employee contributions.

Eligible persons must have received salary exceeding the monthly threshold, not have accepted prior payment in lieu of service credit, and must have requested to purchase service by December 31, 2018.

Eligible person must pay the total employee contributions that would have been made plus annual compound interest within 90 days, calculated by the Public Employees Retirement Association executive director.

City of Maplewood must pay employer contributions plus annual compound interest within 60 days after receiving the eligible person's payment, with collection procedures available if the city fails to pay.

Purchased service credit cannot be used to determine disability benefits under Minnesota Statutes section 353.656.
