Prohibits smoking in passenger vehicles when a person under age 18 is present, regardless of whether windows are open or closed, effective August 1, 2020.

Allows drivers of public transportation vehicles to smoke during personal use only if no persons under age 18 are present and must post a conspicuous sign if smoking.

Imposes a $50 fine for second and subsequent violations of the smoking prohibition; first violation results in a safety warning with no fine.

Peace officers may only cite violations if they lawfully stopped the driver for a moving violation unrelated to vehicle equipment.

Exempts section 169.477 violations from driver's license suspension for failure to pay fines and from standard traffic offense surcharges.
