School districts must establish procedures allowing parents, guardians, or adult students (18+) to review all instructional materials including textbooks, videos, prerecorded materials, and online resources upon request.

When a parent, guardian, or adult student objects to instructional content, the school must make reasonable arrangements for alternative instruction, which may be provided by the parent or guardian if school-offered alternatives do not address their concerns.

School boards are not required to pay for alternative instruction provided by parents, guardians, or adult students, though school personnel may evaluate and assess the quality of student work.

School districts must obtain written parental or guardian consent before providing sexual education instruction to any minor student.

School personnel are prohibited from imposing academic or other penalties on students solely for arranging alternative instruction under these provisions.
