Recognizes January 16th as Religious Freedom Day in Minnesota to commemorate the enactment of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom on January 16, 1786, which influenced the U.S. Constitution and First Amendment.

Celebrates the diversity of Minnesotans and affirms that each person has the right to hold beliefs and practice religion according to their conscience.

Promotes and encourages respect for all individuals regardless of their religious beliefs, affiliations, or lack of religious beliefs.

Commits the Minnesota Legislature to protect the rights of all people to practice their religion free from interference from government, institutions, or groups.
