HF 3366 Summary

• Appropriates $3,000,000 from the general fund to the Commissioner of Employment and Economic Development for a grant to Firefighters for Healing to design, construct, and equip residential units on a floor of a building across from Hennepin County Medical Center for temporary housing of burn victims and their families during treatment.

• Appropriates $2,000,000 from the bond proceeds fund to Hennepin County to acquire real property, design, and construct a skyway connecting the residential units building to Hennepin County Medical Center.

• Makes both appropriations contingent on securing matching commitments from nonstate sources: at least $2,000,000 for the residential units project and at least $2,000,000 for the skyway project.

• Authorizes the Commissioner of Management and Budget to sell and issue up to $2,000,000 in state bonds to fund the skyway appropriation, in accordance with Minnesota Statutes sections 16A.631 to 16A.675 and Minnesota Constitution article XI, sections 4 to 7.

• Takes effect the day following final enactment.
