Appropriates funds from the general fund to the commissioner of education for fiscal year 2021 to support trauma-informed school incentive aid grants.

Eligible schools receive grant funds at $40 per pupil enrolled at the school site on October 1 of the previous fiscal year.

Commissioner of Education selects schools to receive grants with preference given to schools in districts with large discipline disparities identified by the Department of Human Rights.

School districts and exclusive teacher representatives negotiate trauma-informed support program plans that may include training in trauma-responsive practices, adverse childhood experiences training, extra professional development days, or outreach to affected students and families.

Districts and teacher representatives must assess grant outcomes using data on suspensions, expulsions, attendance, and academic achievement and growth; appropriation is one-time only.
