• Increases long-term facilities maintenance revenue per adjusted pupil unit for school districts to $380 for fiscal year 2019 and later (up from $292 in 2018 and $193 in 2017).

• Increases charter school long-term facilities maintenance revenue to $132 per adjusted pupil unit for fiscal year 2019 and later (up from $85 in 2018 and $34 in 2017).

• Authorizes school districts to include school safety facility enhancement projects in their facilities plans, including security remodeling, violence prevention equipment, facility modifications, and vapor detection devices.

• Expands allowed uses of long-term facilities maintenance revenue to include school safety facility enhancements, energy-efficiency projects, and building code compliance projects.

• Removes the restriction on using long-term facilities maintenance revenue for violence prevention and facility security projects (now permissible under new school safety facility enhancements authorization).
