Appropriates $200,000 in fiscal year 2021 from the general fund to the Commissioner of Employment and Economic Development for grants to a Hennepin County organization providing employment preparation and employment facilitation services for individuals released from custody.

Appropriates $200,000 in fiscal year 2021 from the general fund to the Commissioner of Employment and Economic Development for grants to a Hennepin County organization providing transitional housing options and referrals to community-based reentry services for individuals released from criminal custody.

Appropriates $400,000 in fiscal year 2021 from the general fund to the Commissioner of Education for grants to a Hennepin County organization providing mentorship and personal development opportunities to boys in grades 6 to 12, addressing trends of increased violence and decreased academic engagement.

All appropriations are onetime grants to organizations in Hennepin County operating research-based interactive learning programs focused on personal empowerment and leadership.
