Health plan companies must provide coverage for COVID-19 testing, treatment, and quarantine costs under all health plans for all enrollees regardless of test results.

Coverage applies equally whether enrollees receive services from participating or nonparticipating providers, hospitals, or medical facilities.

Health plan companies cannot impose cost-sharing requirements including deductibles, coinsurance, or co-payments for COVID-19 testing, treatment, and quarantine services.

The requirement becomes effective the day following final enactment and applies to all health plans in effect on or after that date.

The requirement automatically repeals one day after the Minnesota commissioner of health determines COVID-19 is no longer a public health threat.
