Amends Minnesota Statutes section 245A.1435 to modify safe sleep practices for infants in licensed child care programs, effective September 30, 2020.

Requires infants be placed on their backs to sleep unless physician directs otherwise on a commissioner-developed form; allows stomach sleeping if infant is at least six months old or parent confirms infant regularly rolls over at home.

Prohibits items in cribs except pacifiers; requires fitted sheets that overlap mattress underside and cannot be dislodged, and prohibits weighted materials, hoods, or bibs in infant sleepwear.

Permits swaddling only for infants who have not begun rolling over, with parental written consent on a commissioner-developed form in partnership with the Minnesota Sudden Infant Death Center; swaddles must not restrict breathing or be loose enough to cover nose and mouth.

Allows license holders to use helmet-wearing infants for sleep with signed documentation from physicians or licensed therapists on a commissioner-developed form.

Amends section 245A.146 to require annual crib safety checks against the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website and monthly safety inspections of mesh or fabric-sided play yards with detailed documentation of structural conditions.
