H.F. 4535 Summary

• Appropriates $98,000,000 from trunk highway bond proceeds to the commissioner of transportation for design, engineering, environmental analysis, right-of-way acquisition, and construction/reconstruction of Trunk Highway 252 and Interstate Highway 94.

• Authorizes the commissioner of management and budget to issue up to $98,000,000 in state bonds under Minnesota Statutes sections 167.50 to 167.52 and Minnesota Constitution article XIV, section 11, with proceeds deposited in the trunk highway bond proceeds account.

• Appropriates $55,000,000 from state transportation bond proceeds for grants to the Metropolitan Council, Hennepin County, and the cities of Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center, and Minneapolis for the same project.

• Allows the $55,000,000 appropriation to also fund preliminary engineering, environmental analysis, and design of a transit service improvement in the Interstate 94 corridor from Maple Grove Transit Center to downtown Minneapolis.

• Authorizes the commissioner of management and budget to issue up to $55,000,000 in state bonds under Minnesota Statutes sections 16A.631 to 16A.675 and Minnesota Constitution article XI, sections 4 to 7.
