$20,000,000 appropriated from the general fund in fiscal year 2020 to the commissioner of employment and economic development for grants to hospitality industry members.

Grants reimburse out-of-pocket losses from perishable food or code-dated beverages destroyed due to Executive Order 20-04 shutdown.

Applicants must submit certified applications with invoices, destruction dates, expiration dates for beverages, destruction methods, and proof of no other reimbursement received.

Commissioner must submit report by February 15, 2021 detailing number of grants approved, total amounts issued by county, and breakdown by hospitality industry sectors.

Department may use up to one percent of appropriation for administrative expenses.
