$9,000,000 appropriated from bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of natural resources for a grant to the city of Carver for levee restoration capital improvements.

Levee restoration project will protect the Carver Historic District from Minnesota River flood waters and meet FEMA certification requirements.

Project scope includes predesign, design, engineering, land acquisition, raising levee height, constructing internal drainage, establishing maintainable setbacks, and FEMA certification.

City of Carver will contribute $2,150,000 in local nonstate funds; appropriation waives nonstate match requirement in recognition of $1,200,000 in local funds spent since 2016 on related improvements.

Commissioner of management and budget authorized to sell and issue state bonds up to $9,000,000 to fund the appropriation, effective the day following final enactment.
