• Establishes transportation as a regular category service for pregnant or parenting pupils to programs established on or before January 1, 2018, that provide academic instruction, at least four hours per week of parenting instruction, and on-site high-quality child care during the education day.

• Allows districts to designate various facilities as eligible transportation endpoints, including licensed day care facilities, school day care facilities, respite care facilities, relative residences, parent-chosen locations, or after-school programs operated by political subdivisions, if within the school's attendance area.

• Adds reimbursement for transportation provided under this new category to the calculation of pupil transportation adjustment revenue under Minnesota Statutes section 126C.10, subdivision 18a.

• Appropriates unspecified amounts from the general fund to the commissioner of education for fiscal years 2020 and 2021 to reimburse districts for transporting pregnant or parenting pupils, with proration if insufficient.

• Becomes effective July 1, 2019.
