Allows school districts to conduct a functional behavior assessment as a stand-alone evaluation without requiring a comprehensive evaluation of the student.

Functional behavior assessments must be conducted as defined in Minnesota Rules, part 3525.0210, subpart 22.

Maintains existing requirements that individualized education program teams consider positive behavioral interventions, strategies, and supports to address behavior needs for children.

Requires evaluation teams seeking to determine "other health disability" classification to obtain written documentation from a licensed physician or health care provider of the student's medically diagnosed chronic or acute health condition.
