Appropriates $50,000 from the general fund to the commissioner of public safety in fiscal year 2021 for a school bus safety education and awareness campaign.

Campaign must focus on reducing motor vehicles unlawfully passing school buses and educating drivers about pupil safety during boarding and unloading.

Requires campaign to inform drivers about laws mandating vehicles stop when school buses have extended the stop-signal arm and are flashing red lights, and penalties for violations.

Commissioner must identify best practices, review effective communication methods, and consider multiple forms of media when developing the campaign.

Funds are provided as a one-time appropriation.
