Repeals Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 169.685, subdivision 4, which currently prohibits evidence of seat belt use or failure to use seat belts from being admitted in personal injury or property damage litigation.

Eliminates the general rule that prevents proof of seat belt use or child passenger restraint system use/non-use from being admissible in motor vehicle-related litigation.

Removes the exception that allowed evidence of defectively designed, manufactured, installed, or operating seat belts or child restraint systems to be introduced in actions against manufacturers or installers.
