• Conditional licenses are valid for 120 days and may be renewed once for an additional 120 days, then converted to permanent licenses if the center achieves federal Medicare certification.

• Permits Medicare-certified ambulatory surgical centers to share a facility only with other Medicare-certified ambulatory surgical centers or conditionally licensed outpatient surgical centers.

• Establishes that outpatient surgical centers must remain freestanding facilities unless licensed as part of a hospital or operating under the shared facility provisions in the bill.

• Repeals Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 144.55, subdivision 10, which required an evaluation report on the accreditation program by November 15, 1983.
