Appropriates $2,750,000 in fiscal year 2021 from the renewable development account to the commissioner of commerce for a grant to the city of Granite Falls for hydroelectric facility improvements.

$2,350,000 of the appropriation funds the purchase of a new turbine to expand the electric generating capacity of the city's existing hydroelectric generating facility.

$400,000 of the appropriation funds repairs to structural damage and erosion caused by flooding to the building housing the turbines.

Any unexpended funds must be returned to the renewable development account by June 30, 2022, and the appropriation is canceled if the project is funded through other 2020 legislative session legislation.

Effective the day following final enactment.
