Requires sports governing bodies to provide educational materials about sudden cardiac arrest symptoms (fainting, difficulty breathing, chest pain, dizziness, abnormal heart rate) to youth athletes, coaches, officials, and parents.

Mandates that students exhibiting signs of sudden cardiac arrest be immediately removed from play and prohibited from returning until evaluated and cleared in writing by a qualified health care provider.

Requires all coaches and officials involved in youth athletic activities to complete initial training and subsequent training at least once every three school years on sudden cardiac arrest prevention and recognition.

Applies requirements to charter schools providing school-sponsored athletic activities and permits the high school league to adopt policies exceeding the bill's minimum standards.

Effective for the 2020-2021 school year and later; does not create additional liability for schools, school districts, or their employees or volunteers.
