Requires municipalities to base building permit and inspection fees on a cost per square foot for single-family and multifamily residential structures with four or fewer dwelling units, effective January 1, 2021

Mandates that all permit and inspection fees under this requirement be made publicly available through at least one of three methods: posting on the municipality's website, providing copies by mail upon request, or maintaining a copy for review at city hall

Amends Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 326B.153, by adding a new subdivision (1b) to establish these fee requirements
