Health care providers must participate in any veterans' health care coverage program offered by the Department of Veteran Affairs to be eligible to participate in state health insurance plans or programs.

Requirement applies to providers participating in health insurance plans or programs, state employee health coverage under section 43A.18, and the public employees insurance program under section 43A.316.

Requirement also applies to providers in health insurance plans offered to employees of statutory or home rule charter cities, counties, or school districts.

Creates new statute Minnesota Statutes section 197.997 to establish this provider participation condition.
