Amends Minnesota Statutes section 35.155, subdivision 11 to allow owners of farmed Cervidae infected with chronic wasting disease to participate in research instead of mandatory herd depopulation.

Owners who voluntarily enter into a research agreement with the Board of Animal Health and Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota are exempt from depopulation requirements and herd quarantine.

Board must compensate participating owners for allowing their herds to be tested for chronic wasting disease using appropriated funds.

Board and University of Minnesota may enter into research agreements with up to four owners representing different regions of the state as practicable.

Research must include live-animal testing and comparison of results to testing conducted on stem cells.
