Adds two new voting members to the opioid prescribing work group who are consumer members suffering from chronic pain, intractable pain, or a rare disease or condition.

The work group is appointed by the Commissioner of Human Services in consultation with the Commissioner of Health and includes healthcare professionals, law enforcement, health plan representatives, and consumers impacted by opioid abuse or dependence.

Work group membership includes physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, dentists, mental health professionals, medical examiners, and health plan directors, all required to be actively practicing in Minnesota and registered with the DEA.

Non-voting members include the medical director for the medical assistance program, a Department of Human Services pharmacy unit representative, and the Department of Labor and Industry medical director.

Voting members receive an honorarium of $200 per meeting and reimbursement for mileage and parking expenses.
