Allows the commissioner to transfer full ownership of retired state-owned canines to their handlers

Applies to canines that the handler trained and worked with while employed by the state

Handler becomes solely responsible for all expenses related to the retired canine following the transfer of ownership

Amends Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 16B.2975, by adding a new subdivision 8 on canine management

Introduced March 11, 2020, and referred to the State Government Finance and Policy and Elections committee
