Allows volunteer firefighters who become full-time employees of their affiliated fire department to continue receiving service credit toward vesting in their relief association retirement benefit.

Requires the fire chief to certify the full-time employee's service credit following the same procedure used for volunteer firefighters.

Permits relief associations to credit one completed year of active service toward vesting for each year they receive certification of the employee's service.

Allows employees to receive vesting credit in the relief association simultaneously with service credit under the public employees police and fire retirement plan for the same year of service.

Takes effect January 1, 2021, with retroactive application from March 1, 2020, for members of the Cloquet Area Fire District Firefighter's Relief Association who transfer to full-time employment.
