S.F. No. 4248 - Albert Lea Highway 65 Flood Mitigation

• Appropriates $2,682,000 from bond proceeds to the commissioner of transportation for a grant to the city of Albert Lea for design, right-of-way acquisition, and construction of local road portions of the Highway 65 flood mitigation project.

• Appropriates $2,172,000 from the trunk highway fund bond proceeds account to the commissioner of transportation for design, right-of-way acquisition, and construction of the marked U.S. Highway 65 roadway in Albert Lea.

• The flood mitigation project is designed to raise Highway 65 above flood levels in Albert Lea.

• The $2,682,000 local road grant is contingent on at least $1,000,000 being committed from nonstate sources to complete the project.

• Authorizes the sale and issuance of state bonds up to $2,682,000 and $2,172,000 respectively to fund the appropriations, effective the day following final enactment.
