Exempts rural event centers from automatic sprinkler protection system requirements under the State Building Code, except as required in Minnesota Rules chapter 7511 for A-3 occupancies based on fire area, occupant load, or location.

Defines "rural event venue" as a public accommodation not located in an urban area that is rented for money or exchange of goods or services and used for hosting weddings, receptions, parties, and similar social events.

Requires the commissioner of public safety to amend Minnesota Rules chapter 7511 (Minnesota State Fire Code) to classify rural event venues as an A-3 occupancy use.

Authorizes the commissioner to use the good cause exemption under Minnesota Statutes section 14.388 to expedite adoption of the new rule.

Sections 1 and 2 become effective the day following final enactment.
